George Coșbuc's room

George Coșbuc arrived in Sibiu in 1887 brought by Ioan Slavici, director of the Tribuna newspaper, where he was employed. He wrote the poem Zamfirei's Wedding in 1889, being impressed by the beauty of the Datins and the places in Gura-Râului. The characters present in the poem such as: Boyer Săgătă, groom Viorel, old man Grui, ... are pseudonyms of some local people from that time.

During the difficult period of the war and the bombings 1943-1945, Blaga settled in Gura Râului together with other colleagues from the University of Cluj, being hosted in the house of doctor Vilț. Also during the socialist period after 1950, Lucian Blaga often stopped at Gura-Râului, invited and hosted by doctor Manta. He comes especially during the summer, sometimes for a few weeks, which he dedicates to writing and rest. The poems written at Gura-Râului are numerous, but the most famous is "Bocca del Rio".

Mihai Eminescu's apartment

Mihai Eminescu arrived in Sibiu three times: the first time in August 1866 when he stayed in Rășinari with priest Ioan Bratu, Octavian Goga's grandfather, in 1868 when he came to Sibiu with Mihail Pascaly's band and in 1869 as a visitor to the Museum of the Transylvanian Society Natural Sciences.
Is it possible that Mihai Eminescu also arrived at Gura-Râului? We think so, and that's why we dedicated an apartment to him The Apartment: Mihai Eminescu
